Digital Amplifiers Efficiency

The graph shows the digital amplifiers improved efficiency compared to conventional class AB amplifiers. For a conventional amplifier efficiency is rarely higher than 60-65%. Efficiency of the MB audiosystems amplifiers typically exceeds 90% at full power, and high efficiency is reached even at low power levels. This results in reduced size and weight of the supply and final section. Less heat has to be dissipated, which means no cooling fan and a smaller heatsink. Also the working temperature is lower, which increases system reliability. Digital Amplifiers are used in the entire MB audiosystems product range.
